Curriculum Vitae:

Marius Zimand was born in Bucharest, Romania. He studied at the University of Bucharest, where he received a BS degree in Mathematics and Computer Science in 1982 and a Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1991. In 1992 Marius Zimand was granted a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester. He is currently a faculty member at Towson University and at University of Bucharest.

Marius Zimand is the author or co-author of more than 25 refereed journal articles covering topics from structural complexity theory, cryptography, algorithmical aspects of randomness, Chaitin-Kolmogorov complexity, computational political science, and others. He is currently writing a book on qualitative aspects of complexity theory.
