Curriculum Vitae:

Domenico Rosaci is Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University “Mediterranea” of Reggio Calabria. He took his Master Degree in Engineering “cum laude” on 1994, and his PhD in Electronic Engineering on 1999. He has been Visiting PhD at the EPFL of Lausanne, Switzerland, on 1997.His main research topics fall in distributed artificial intelligence and Internet applications. In particular, he is interested in Intelligent Systems for the assistance of Web users and in Technologies for the Semantic WeIn this context, he studied several subjects, as Multi-Agent Systems, Recommender Systems and Ontologies.

His main scientific contributions consist in the definition of effective and efficient techniques for recommender systems and in studying social issues in agent communities. Moreover, he has also been interested in techniques of automated extraction of knowledge for software agents, proposing an approach based on Logic Neural Networks. He also studied some topics falling in Databases and in Information Systems areas. In particular, in Databases field, he provided some contributions in On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP), in Integration of Heterogeneous Information Sources and in Extraction of Semantic Properties of Information Sources. In Information Systems field, he has been mainly interested in e-Services and Web Services.

He is authour of about 90 scientific papers, published on outstanding journals (e.g, ACM Transactions on Information Systems, ACM Transactions on Autonomous and Adaptive Systems, Computational Intelligence, VLDB Journal, UMUAI, Information Systems, International Journal of Intelligent Systems) and on proceedings of international conferences (e.g, ICDE, COOPIS, ODBASE, ECAI). He is member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Universal Computer Science and The Open Cybernetics and Systemics Journal and he is member of the Editorial Review Board of Applied Intelligence and Journal of Computer Information Systems.

He has been member of the program committee of several international conferences, as the International Conference on Reliability, Availability and Security (ARES), the IEEE International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications (AINA), the International Workshop ODBIS in the VLDB Conference, the International Joint Conference on Neural Networks. He has served as reviewer for a number of international journals, as the IEEE Transactions on Human, Man and Cybernetics, the International Journal of Human Computer Studies, Knowledge and Information Systems, AI Communications, Information Sciences, User Modeling and User Adapted Interactions.
