Curriculum Vitae:
Lutz Prechelt was born in 1965 and worked as a software professional from 1985 to 1990. He received his University Diploma in Informatics (1990) and the Ph.D. (1995) from the University of Karlsruhe. After his habilitation in early 2000, he left the university and joined abaXX Technology AG in Stuttgart.
Since 2003, he is full professor for Informatics at the Freie Universität Berlin.
He is the initiator of the Forum for Negative Results (FNR), a permanent special section of J.UCS.
Main Research Interests:
- the role of error in the software process, error recognition and prevention
- software processes (e.g. open source processes, agile processes)
- empirical software engineering in general
- measurement and benchmarking issues
- research methodology
