Born in Greece (1963). Study of Mathematics at the University of Patras, Greece (1980-1984). Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Patras, Greece (1991). Researcher with the Computer Technology Institute, Patras, Greece (1985-1991). Post-Doctoral Research and Teaching Fellow at the University of Patras (1991-1992). Research Assistant Professor at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, USA (1992-1994). Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL, USA (1994-1995). Senior Researcher at the Computer Technology Institute,Patras (1995-1998). Since September 1998, Professor at the Department of Informatics of the Technological Educational Institution of Athens, Greece.

Referee for a number of journals and international conferences. Program and organising committee member of several international conferences and schools.
