Curriculum Vitae:
Edith Hemaspaandra was born as Edith Spaan in Schagen, the Netherlands, on February 20, 1964. She studied at the University of Amsterdam, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 1986, a Master of Science degree in Computer Science "cum laude " in 1988, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1993. Her Ph.D. thesis was "Complexity of Modal Logics", and was advised by Johan van Benthem.
After her Ph.D., she did a postdoc at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She was a faculty member at Le Moyne College from 1993 to 1998. Since 1998 she has been a faculty member at RIT. She is the USA-side co-PI on an NSF/DAAD USA-Germany international collaboration grant on structural complexity theory.
