Curriculum Vitae:

Udo Hönig studied computer science at the University of Hagen, where he received his master's degree (Diplom-Informatiker) in 2001 and his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat) in 2007. His research interests include scheduling, metaheuristics, optimization, grid computing, cloud computing, and virtualization.

From 1992 to 2001, he had a full-time position at the Sparkassen Rechenzentrum Rheinland GmbH where he first completed an apprenticeship as mathematical-technical assistant, before he worked as an application developer (1995 to 1996) and network planner (1996 to 2001). After the successful completion of his avocationally done university studies, in 2002 he became a teaching and research assistant at the Chair of Computer Architecture at the University of Hagen. Following his doctorate, he continued to work at the University of Hagen as a postdoctoral researcher until 2011. From 2003 to 2011, he additionally fulfilled various teaching assignments at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund. Since 2012, he is professor for software engineering and system infrastructures at the Department of Information Systems and Business Engineering at the European University of Applied Sciences (EUFH) in Brühl/Rhineland, Germany.
