Curriculum Vitae:

Michael Granitzer is assistant professor at the Knowledge Management Institute of Graz University of Technology since 2009 and scientific director of the Know-Center Graz since 2010. His scientific competencies are in the area of Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, Information Visualisation, Knowledge Discovery, Semantic Technologies and Multimedia Metadata. He has been coordinator of nationally funded research projects like DYONIPOS, the Eurostars Project MAKIN IT and is currently coordinator of the Marie Curie FP 7 IAPP Project TEAM.

Michael Granitzer has studied Telematics at Graz University of Technology with a special focus on Computational Intelligence and holds a PhD degree in Computer Science. He has been member in several program committees, organizer of several workshops and conferences, reviewer in well-known journals like Elsevier’s Pattern Recognition and the IEEE Journal on Transactions of Knowledge and Data Engineering, and has published around 100 mostly peer-reviewed publications including journal publications, book chapters and books in the above-mentioned fields.
