Curriculum Vitae: Paolo Ceravolo holds a degree of Laurea in Philosophy from the Philosophy Department of the Catholic University of Milan, Italy and a PhD. in Computer Science from the Department of Information Technologies of the University of Milan, Italy. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Milan. His research interests include Data Representation and Integration, Business Process Monitoring, Process Mining, Empirical Software Engineering, Social Interaction Metrics, Innovation Management, Technology Enhanced Learning. This variety of topics is focused around the investigation of a methodological approach for modelling technological and social systems. Computer Science is a discipline mainly rooted in mathematics and logic but having as outcome social objects, as the current evolutions have largely demonstrated. For this reason, it is more and more important to conciliate the studies insisting at different levels of abstraction, dealing with data/information/knowledge flows internally as well as in conjunction with the social context. Recently he has been conducting research activities within the FP7 research project SecureSCM (Secure Supply Chain Management), the FP7 ARISTOTELE (Personalized Learning & Collaborative Working Environments Fostering Social Creativity and Innovations Inside the Organizations) and KITE.it (Knowledge and business Intelligence Technologies in cross-Enterprise environments for Italian advanced mechanical industry) projects. Currently, Paolo Ceravolo is directly involved in the H2020 TOREADOR project aimed at addressing a model-based BDA-as-a-service (MBDAaaS) approach. He is involved in the organisation of different conferences such as the IEEE Services conference, the International Symposium on Data-Driven Process Discovery and Analysis (SIMPDA), the International Conference on Process Mining, the OTM Academy, the International Workshop on Algorithms & Theories for the Analysis of Event Data (ATAED). Since 2014 he is chair of the IFIP 2.6 Working Group on Database Semantics.
