Curriculum Vitae:
Cris Calude was born in Galatzi, Romania. Educated at Bucharest University (BA(Hons) in Mathematics and Computer Science, 1975; Ph. D. in Computer Science, 1977). Positions: Full Professor (with a Personal Chair in Computer Science), and Director of the Centre for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science, The University of Auckland, New Zealand. Associate member of the International Solvay Institutes, Belgium, research associate, University of Canterbury, NZ, member of the International Scientific Council of the Black Sea University, adjunct professor "Ovidius"University of Constanta, member of the Council of the Centre of Logic and Informatics, Bucharest, Romania.
Cris Calude wrote more than 160 scientific articles, 9 books (including "Theories of Computational Complexity", North-Holland, 1988, and "Information and Randomness", Springer-Verlag, 1994, 2002) and co-edited 29 proceedings. He is an editor of Springer DMTCS series and a member of the Advisory Board of Springer EATCS series.
