Curriculum Vitae: Study of mathematics and physics; 1969 PhD. in mathematics on algebraic geometry. Employment in the software industry in the field of compiler-compiler-development. Habilitation in theoretical informatics at the TH Darmstadt, Germany, on automata and recursion theory. From 1981 to 1991 professor for theoretical informatics at the RWTH Aachen, Germany. Besides the purely informatical efforts (e.g. concerning different aspects of artificial intelligence) direction and participation in several interdisciplinary projects together with linguists, sociologists, biologists and medicine; teachings in informatics and society. Since 1991 head of Dept. 1 - Modelling and Social Impacts, at the Institute for Computer Science and Social Studies Freiburg, Germany, with special focuses on foundations of Informatics, interdisciplinary interfaces of information science, gender studies and new media in higher education. Membership in relevant national and international associations as well as advisory and evaluation boards regarding information science, science and society and gender studies.
