Curriculum Vitae:

Beng Chin OOI received B.Sc.(hon) and Ph.D in computer science from Monash University, Australia, in 1985 and 1989 respectively. He is now a senior lecturer in the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science, National University of Singapore. He is the author of a monograph "Efficient Query Processing in Geographic Information Systems" (Springer-Verlag, 1990), a co-editor of "Parallel Query Processing in Relational Databases" (IEEE, 1994), "Advances in Spatial Databases" (Springer-Verlag, 1993) and "GIS: Technology and Applications" (World-Scientific, 1993). He serves as an editorial board member for International Journal of Geographical Information Systems and as a program committee member for a number of international conferences. He is a member of Association for Computing Machinery and IEEE Computer Society.
