Conrado Martínez received his master's degree in computer science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 1989 and his PhD in 1992 from the same university. He now holds the position of associate professor at the Departament de Llenguatges i Sistemes Informàtics at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
Conrado Martínez was a member of numerous program committees and he acts as referee for several international journals. His area of expertise is design and analysis of algorithms, mainly those related to fundamental problems on sorting, selection and searching (both one-dimensional and multidimensional data structures). In the field of analysis, he has worked in various problems related to search trees (binary, k-d-dimensional, locally balanced, etc) and variants such as skip lists, as well as other sorting and selection algorithms.
Main Research Interests:
- design and analysis of algorithms
- average-case analysis
