Curriculum Vitae:
Joachim Hasebrook was born 1963 and grew up in Lower Saxony, Germany. In spring 1991, he graduated in psychology and in fall 1991 he received a baccalaureate in computer science, both at the University of Marburg. The main focuses of his studies were the psychology of language and cognition, and data analysis and compiler construction, respectively. From October of 1991 to December of 1993, Joachim Hasebrook participated in a doctorate program about hypermedia-supported learning at the University of Giessen. He wrote his doctoral thesis about acquiring and conveying structural knowledge using hypermedia systems.
Joachim Hasebrook was employed at the software and publishing house Medialog and was responsible for the development and evaluation of multimedia and on-line tools for vocational guidance and education. Since November 1996, he is a member of staff of Bank Academy in Frankfurt. Bank Academy is a non-profit organization and a foundation of all German bank associations (http://www.bankakademie.de), its 'University of Banking' is the private university of applied science of Bank Academy (http://www.hfb.de). Since February 2001, he is a CEO of a subsidiary of Bank Academy, efiport AG, which is dedicated to eLearning services for banks and insurance companies.
Joachim Hasebrook published several articles about learning with multimedia and hypermedia, a book about the psychology of multimedia (1995) and a book about tele-working (1996, together with Hartmut Woerrlein). He wrote an expert opinion about learning with multimedia in charge of the German parliament (1994) and an expert opinion about distance learning in charge of the European parliament (1996). He is a co-author of two books to be published in 2002: A Datacom Research Report about eLearning markets (together with Dirk Rudoplh and Udo Steffens) and a book about the application of corporate eLearning (together with Mathias Otte).
