Curriculum Vitae:
Rob J.M. Hartog (1948) studied experimental (solid state) physics at the University of Amsterdam. After his doctoral exam in 1974 he taught physics at several educational institutes. From 1979 till 1986 he taugth physics and pedagogical content knowledge of physics at the teacher training centre (NLO) in Nijmegen. Since 1986 he is employed by Wageningen University. He has completed a range of tasks with respect to the use of information and communication technology in higher education. Together with a small company (INS) he designed and developed a Learning Management System avant la lettre (KELLER). For the school of Technology and Nutrition he has managed a large educational innovation program. Recently he has been directing a large project (ALTB) of the SURF foundation on design development and use of closed questions in tests and interactive learning materials. He is also lecturing information systems development at Wageningen University. Currently he is directing the Wageningen Multimedia Research Centre (WMMRC). The WMMRC is a small centre of expertise within the Social Sciences Group of Wageningen University focusing on the design, development and implementation of digital learning materials. He is director of the foundation Food Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. The mission of the Foundation Food Biotechnology and Bioinformatics is to promote and realize sustainability in the development of digital learning materials.
