- After technical education studies in philosophy, history of art and journalism at the University of Vienna
- Two terms in Cambridge
- Doctorate (PhD) in 1974 from the Vienna University
- In 1974 "Science Award of Lower Austria" for the elaboration of "The Press in Austria"
Professional Experience
- Advertising and marketing manager with Philips, sales director with Kapsch and managing director of "Data 100" Vienna and "DATEX-Technical Development Corp." in Frankfurt, Germany
- 1988 - 1996 several duties with Alcatel: sales director of Austria, export director of "Business System Group" for Central- and Eastern Europe and Latin America
- Moving to Headquarters in Paris with the responsibilitiy for Latin America and Europe, development of the distribution network of Alcatel in Eastern Europe, foundation of 12 companies with nearly 100 subsidiaries (Kasachstan to Hungary) , 1994 return to Austria as a member of the leadership team of "Alcatel Austria AG" with the responsibility for Austria and Eastern Europe
- 1979 - 1996 lectures at the University of Vienna "Department for Journalism and Communication Science" with main emphasis on new communication technologies
- 1986 professor of the State University of Telecommunication in St. Petersburg
- 1996 - 2004 head of the "Department for Telecommunication, Information and Media" at the Donau-University in Krems
- President of EATA (European Association of Telematics Applications)
